Vermilion River Closed To All Boat Traffic at Surrey St. Bridge

(Lafayette, La) - The Vermilion River will be closed to all boat traffic at the Surry Street bridge for approximately four weeks due to bridge work.
Mark B. Dubroc, LCG Director of Public Works, announced today that the Vermilion River at the Surrey Street Bridge will be closed to all boating traffic on Wednesday, May 16th at 8 am for the cleaning and painting of the Surrey Street Bridge. Vertical clearance will be significantly reduced not permitting boating traffic inclusive of paddlers. The work is anticipated to last approximately four weeks, weather dependent.
