Chase Bank in Oil Center Robbed At Gunpoint

Lafayette, LA— On May 16, 2018 at approximately 11:50 am, Lafayette Police responded to a business in the 800 Block of W. Pinhook Road in reference to an armed robbery in progress. A black male suspect entered the business and demanded money from the employees. The suspect then fled the business on foot. No injuries were reported. 

The suspect is described as being tall, with a thin build. The suspect was wearing light blue pants, dark colored shirt, light blue head covering and a white cloth covering his face.  The suspect was armed with a silver colored firearm.  

The incident remains under investigation.  Anyone with information concerning this incident is urged to contact Lafayette Police or Crimestoppers 232-TIPS (8477).

Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department have recovered additional photographs of the suspect, who is believed to be involved in the earlier report of an armed robbery in progress.  The suspect is now believed to wearing dark colored shoes and shorts, a white t-shirt and a white cloth around his neck.
