Dec 21, 2018 04:19PM ● By Press Release

Lafayette Mayor-President Joel Robideaux announced today the hiring of Kathryn Reaux to fill the Communication Specialist position. Reaux will assist Chief Communications Officer Cydra Wingerter with the day-to-day communications needs with the goal of effectively, succinctly and consistently communicating to the public.

According to Wingerter, as new communication technologies continue to come online, so is the expectation for more two-way communication with the public. “Increased and responsive communications with the citizens of the Parish is crucial to our success. There are so many facets of local government that it can be overwhelming to keep constituents up-to-date on all of the important happenings like news, goals, successes and challenges. Kathryn not only brings experience in marketing and communications, but also a new perspective to our office and an energy that is contagious,” stated Wingerter.

The position of Communication Specialist is to assist in managing communications avenues including press releases, social media and website management, and responding to public inquiries. Reaux joins LCG with 5+ years of experience in communications, most recently as a communications assistant at Junior League of Lafayette. Prior to that, she worked in account services and digital media at BBR creative and as a freelance graphic designer.
