Jun 11, 2019 03:30PM ● By Press Release

New Orleans--Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser is hosting 20 states’ Lieutenant Governors for meetings to improve communication and partnerships on mutually beneficial topics such as the importance of economic development, funding the national flood insurance program, coastal restoration, disaster recovery, seafood industry, and healthcare policy. The goal of the Republican Lieutenant Governors Association (RLGA) is to speak with one collective voice to Congress and federal agencies.

Lt. Governor Nungesser is greeting his colleagues with Southern charm and hospitality through an itinerary balanced with meetings and excursions to several of New Orleans’ finest restaurants, river boat and airboat adventures, tour of Mardi Gras World, crawfish boil, and pair of shrimp boots as souvenirs.

Conferences for the RLGA are held in locations around the country 2-3 times per year, and Lt. Governor Nungesser’s intention is not only to build lasting relationships, but to inspire his guests with memorable experiences they will share to help to continue the tremendous 9% increase visitation achieved in 2018, which yielded $1.9 billion in state and local tax revenue for Louisiana.
