Interdiction Traffic Stop Leads To Three Arrests
Jun 12, 2019 01:13PM ● By Staff Writer6/11/2019 Lafayette, LA -- At approx 1:00 am Tuesday morning, patrol officers with the Lafayette Police Department conducted an interdiction traffic stop on I-10 at the I-49 exit in reference to a traffic violation.
During the stop, officers located three occupants inside the vehicle and found 24 pints of Promethazine (codeine syrup) valued at over $113,000.00 inside the vehicle.
*All three occupants were placed under arrest and transported to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center for booking.
26-year-old Dentrell Rankins (B/M) of New Iberia was arrested for Manufacture/Distribution of a Sch. V narcotic in addition to being charged with Resisting an Officer after he attempted to flee the scene.
27-year-old Marcus Alexis (B/M) of Jeanerette was arrested for Manufacture/Distribution of a Sch. V narcotic.
27-year-old Dashawn White (B/M) of New Iberia was arrested for Manufacture/Distribution of a Sch. V narcotic.
The Lafayette Police Department will
continue to combat illegal drug activity within the City of Lafayette to assure
a safer environment.
