Imprisoned Lafayette attorney Daniel James Stanford has been disbarred following a Louisiana Supreme Court attorney disciplinary proceeding in May over his 2014 conviction on drug conspiracy, money laundering, and other charges.

Stanford was indicted in September 2012 as part of an investigation into Curious Goods LLC, a Lafayette-based business that marketed smoking products throughout Acadiana. He was later found guilty by a federal jury in August 2014 and was sentenced to just more than 10 years in prison for an elaborate scheme to sell synthetic drugs re-branded as potpurri.
