State Police Investigating Officer Involved Shooting In Youngsville

Youngsville – Shortly before 12:00 am on August 27, 2019, the Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations was requested by the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office (LPSO) to investigate an officer involved shooting incident involving their department.

Preliminary investigation reveals that at approximately 11:00 pm, LPSO deputies were dispatched to a residence on Espasie Dr. in Youngsville. At some point during their investigation of the call, a male subject exited the residence armed with a firearm and was subsequently shot by at least one deputy. 

The subject was transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries. No officers were injured during the incident.
