Duson Man Arrested For Shoplifting 194 Items From Dollar General Store

A Duson man is under arrest and faces multiple theft charges related to shoplifting from a Dollar General Store in Carencro.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 10, 2019, Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a Dollar General Store in the 800 block LA-1252 of in Carencro in reference to a shoplifting in progress.

Upon arrival, eyewitnesses were able to provide deputies with a description of the stolen merchandise, the suspect’s vehicle and the license plate number. The vehicle was subsequently located at a Family Dollar in the 2400 block of LA-93 in Carencro, where deputies observed the stolen merchandise in plain view inside the suspect’s vehicle.

The suspect was identified as 52-year-old Kenneth Christopher of Duson.*

In all, deputies located 194 stolen items in Christopher’s possession, totaling in excess of $570.
Deputies were able to return a majority of the stolen items.

Christopher was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Organized Retail Theft (LA RS:14:67.25).

*All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
