Guillory Appoints New Chief Communications Officer

Lafayette Mayor-President Josh Guillory announced today the hiring of Jamie Angelle to fill the Chief Communications Officer (CCO) position. In this role, Angelle will be responsible for public relations and official communications for the city and parish. Angelle’s work will support Guillory’s efforts to be accessible and responsive to the public. Angelle’s appointment will become effective March 2, 2020.

“I am honored to have been appointed to this position by Mayor-President Guillory. I look forward to using my background in journalism to share with the citizens of Lafayette the great work being done by Lafayette Consolidated Government and to ensure the Mayor-President’s goals of maintaining transparency and openness are realized,” said Angelle.

“As a fellow Army Veteran, I am excited to have Jamie join our team as CCO. His extensive background in both media and government operations will be a great asset to this administration in providing up-to-date information on issues affecting Lafayette Parish, “said Guillory about the appointment.

Angelle brings over eight years of combined journalism experience to LCG’s communications team. Angelle most recently worked as a multi-media journalist at KATC TV3 and as a morning anchor on NEWS15 Today at KADN. Prior to his roles in local media, Angelle served as an intelligence analyst in the United States Army until retiring in 2017.
