71 Arrested And 56 Officers Injured In DC Capital Building Riot

Washington DC -- According to the Washington Police Department, as of noon January 7th, more than 70 individuals have been arrested by WPD following a Trump Rally which escalated from a friendly protest to a riot, and a subsequent breach by rioters of the Capitol Building in DC. 

The riots left 4 dead, one woman who was shot by Capitol police and 3 who died from medical emergencies. Overall, 56 officers were injured, with two being hospitalized. Law enforcement officers also confiscated 6 firearms and 2 pipe bombs. While federal charges are expected to be filed on others in attendance, at this time, pending charges range from Curfew Violations, Carrying a Pistol Without a License, Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device, Unlawful Entry, and Possession of Unregistered Ammunition.

Among those arrested are two individuals from Mississippi. To date, no one from Louisiana, Texas, or Arkansas have been arrested.
