Potier to Remain Interim Commander of Lafayette Police Department

Lafayette, LA – According to a statement released by the Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG), Major Monte Potier will remain in command of the Lafayette Police Department until a permanent Chief of Police is appointed. Wayne Griffin, who was originally named interim Chief remains on administrative leave at this time, pending the conclusion of an independent investigation into allegations of misconduct. 

LCG representatives have confirmed that a national search to fill the Police Chief position will begin immediately.
