Former President Donald Trump was swiftly escorted off the stage by Secret Service agents after gunshots rang out during today's rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. Trump had started his speech around 6 p.m. and had only been speaking briefly when the disturbance prompted the Secret Service to take immediate action.

Trump was injured in the incident; he dropped to the ground and was immediately surrounded by Secret Service agents after shots were fired. Blood was seen on his face, particularly from his right ear, as he was hurriedly escorted away. He was seen pumping his fist and shouting “Fight – Fight – Fight” as he was led off the stage and placed in a waiting vehicle.

Heavily armed security personnel immediately took positions on the stage. The Secret Service reported that the gunman and one audience member were killed in the failed assassination attempt, and one spectator is reported to be in serious condition.

Recent updates reveal that Trump was taken to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. The Secret Service has confirmed that Trump is safe and under protective measures. A spokesperson stated that Trump is “fine” following this “heinous act.”

President Joe Biden condemned the violence in remarks made Saturday night and expressed gratitude that Trump is safe in an earlier statement.

Biden emphasized the importance of unity and the need to address the growing violence in the country.
