Earth Day Celebration at Vermilionville

Join us in celebrating Earth Day 2019 as we highlight individuals and organizations engaged in promoting wise stewardship practices to preserve our precious jewel, Earth.

The event will take place on Sunday, April 14th from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Vermilionville Living History Museum & Folklife Park located at 300 Fisher Road, Lafayette, LA 70508. Admission is free thanks to our presenting sponsoring COX.

Bring the family for a day packed with education and recreation! Enjoy environmentally friendly kids’ crafts & activities, a yoga class, a clothing swap station, Clothes & Jewelry Fix-It Café, canoeing, tree give-a-ways, discussions, food demonstrations and music by Nouveau String Band and Horace Trahan & the Ossun Express.

In addition, bring an old t-shirt to make a reusable grocery bag. Oh, do not forget to enjoy the river on a boat tour - for a nominal fee - and grab lunch in our restaurant, La Cuisine de Maman. Keep in mind, Earth Day will take place regardless of weather conditions; alternative preparations are in place.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact Environmental Director, Greg Guidroz, at [email protected] or call 337.233.4077 x.215.
