HBCU College Fair
The HBCU College Fair will take place September 14th, at the Pryce Miller Recreation Center. The Fair will give students in the community a chance to experience some of the HBCU Culture and visit with several colleges without leaving their community.
The 2nd Annual HBCU College Fair will take place Saturday, September 14th, 10:00am – 1:00pm at the Pryce Miller Recreation Center, Lake Charles, LA, The Fair will give students in the community a chance to experience some of the HBCU Culture and visit with several colleges without leaving their community. Our goal is to enlighten and connect diverse students to HBCUs and educate them on the value of Historically Black Colleges and Universities. This Fair provides an opportunity for high school students and parents to meet university recruiters and area alumni members to gather information, as well as dispelling the many myths associated with HBCUs…all without leaving their community.
Colleges and organizations attending are Alcorn State University, Dillard University, Florida A&M University, Grambling State University, Langston University, Southern University and A&M College, Toogaloo College and Xavier University of Louisiana. Also attending will be the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance, Calcasieu Parish School Board’s Career and Technical Education Dept, as well as Voter Registration for students who may reach 18 years of age prior to the upcoming election.
